THE IMPORTANCE of PRAYER

The work of Crown Financial Ministries begins at the moment we bend our knees in prayer participating in the holy privilege of seeking God’s intervention in the course of history to transform lives for His purposes and glory. Prayer demonstrates our trust in God and engages His power to thwart the enemy’s plan for this world.

1) We pray in the name of Christ for wisdom that comes from above through the Holy Spirit. Through His wisdom, He directs Crown’s ministry. [James 3:17 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere.”]
We seek His wisdom and guidance for :
a) Our strategies
b) New product development
c) Our funding
d) Our teaching seminars an small group study

2) Accountability for prayer is welcomed within the Crown family. [I Chron. 5:20 NLT “They cried out to God during the battle, and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him.”]
a) In our teaching environments, we train the “daily habit” of prayer as essential to life change.
b) Prayer is woven into the fabric of each ministry meeting.
c) We encourage new teams, committees and leaders to recruit prayer leaders as the first members of their teams.

3) Prayer posture reflects the intent of the heart. We often choose to pray on our knees reflecting our humble position before the Lord [Psalm 95:6, 7 NLT “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the sheep under his care.]

4) In every gathering, we seek to develop an environment where prayer is free flowing and dynamic [Acts 1:14 NIV “They all joined together constantly in prayer.”]
a) Participants have the right to pause the agenda of meetings to call the group to prayer as led by the Holy Spirit.
b) There are times when our ministry agendas need to be substituted with extended prayer and worship until an answer or solution is received.

5) We are committed to growing in the disciplines and practice of prayer [Ephesians 6:18 NLT “Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.”]
a) We encourage a monthly “Day with the Lord” to focus personally on listening to Him.
b) As we interact with other organizations and individuals, we commit to mutual prayer for each other.

6) We intentionally remember God’s deeds so that we might declare His glory and strengthen our faith [I Chronicles 16:24 NIV “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”]
a) We utilize prayer logs to record both prayer requests and praises as we see God’s answer.
b) We celebrate answered prayer corporately and individually.
