The Birth of Crown Worldwide

Larry Burkett, former CEO of Christian Financial Concepts, and Howard Dayton, former CEO of Crown Ministries, had been acquaintances for years and friends since the early 1990s. In 2000, God impressed both men with the need to expand into new areas for their respective ministries, and both Ministries merged to become the Crown Financial Ministries (CFM). It is now the largest Christian Stewardship ministry in the world.

Howard recognized that Crown’s Financial Bible Study small groups were having a significant impact on churches, but the progress was slow, one church at a time. He had a vision to reach millions, not thousands. Something was missing.

Besides speaking in radio and television and seminars, Larry Burkett had written over 90 books teaching God’s people the Biblical principles of managing money. Larry had seen phenomenal growth in the outreach of Christian Financial Concepts. His radio broadcasts had given him recognition throughout the U.S. and in many parts of the world, but the one area that eluded him was effective penetration into the local church. Something was missing. God began prompting both Howard Dayton and Larry Burkett that their ministries needed to be doing something more. The same Scripture reference compelled them to seek a better way: “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 NKJV).
     

CFM's History in Singapore

 CFM began operations in South East Asia through its Singapore office, and began its ministries in 2004, with the pioneering work of its Regional Director for S.E Asia, Rev Canon Dr. James Wong. The 1st Crown Seminar took place in Oct 2004 led by Reginaldo Kruklis, and CEO Howard Dayton & Andres Panasiuk taught at the Seminar. Crown was officially registered as a company limited by guarantee in 15th March 2006.
